The purpose of The Red Council guild is to provide a fun, social environment for adult players to join together for quests, raids, crafting and exploring. You must be 21 years of age or older to join (occasional exceptions made for family members that like hanging out with old people).
Being a member of the guild means taking part in guild acitvities, grouping with other members and helping out when needed. That doesn't mean you can't solo, or spend time crafting by yourself, but we want to maintain a balance of group play and solo activities that will allow everyone to advance their characters and improve their skills.
We have players at all levels and encourage grouping with guildmates of similar levels whenever possible. We won't power level you! This ensures that we all get to know each other and that players have a chance to practice team play skills early on so that they will be ready for instances and raids at higher levels. Please note that we are NOT a raiding guild, we do a balanced variety of activities including some raiding and we play a variety of games. If you are looking for an end game only raiding guild, this is not us.
Crafting is a big part of our guild activities, so if you like to craft, you'll find plenty of people to compare notes with and ask questions of. Our higher level crafters make armor, weapon, jewelery, food and potions for new and mid level players and we regularly trade crafting materials amongst our members.
There are a few rules for the guild, READ THEM and make sure you understand and agree to abide by them. If you break these rules, you will generally be given a warning, if you break them again, you will be asked to leave.
No rude, offensive or belligerent behavior. Be nice.
Keep cursing to minimum in guild chat and vent, everyone has a different level of tolerance for cursing. Use common sense!
No racism, sexism, homophobia or any other kind of bigotry. Ever. We have all sorts of people in the guild, including gay, black, white, green, short, tall and fat. Be respectful of their differences and think before you speak!
Participate! There's a reason you wanted to join a guild, we hope it's for the company. We expect all of our members to contribute to the guild in some way, we are not a free leveling service/gear depot for you. Don't sit around waiting for something to happen, get out there and group up!
Share. If you know how to do something, help others learn it; if you have extra items consider giving some to a guildmate; if someone needs help to finish a quest, offer to group with them.
Guild auctions and crafted items that people make for you are not to be resold for a profit! That's just sleazy and you will be booted without a warning.
Do not roll on loot that is not for your class, unless you ask. If loot rules are set to Need, Greed, Pass, do not roll Need on something unless your character NEEDS it or you ask.
Players that do not log in for 100 days or more will be removed from the roster unless a prior arrangement has been made. If a prior arrangement has been made, you must put a note next to your player name in the Game Social Panel so that everyone knows you are out. You can always request a re-inivite when you start playing again.
Remember that you represent the guild when you're abroad.....set a good example. If we hear that you behave badly out in the world, you will be asked to leave.
All new recruits will go through a two week probation period before being promoted to full membership. This gives everyone in the group a chance to get to know new people and for new recruits to decide if they want to stay. Once the probation period is over, officers will decide as a group if a promotion is warranted, you need at least two officers to approve your promotion to member. Most people will be promoted around the two week mark, unless they have not logged on much since being recruited or they have done something not in keeping with the spirit of the guild guidelines.
If you are having problems with a member of the guild, settle it directly with that person by talking to them privately or if that doesn't work, ask an officer to intervene and help you. Whatever you do, don't pick fights in guild chat, or quit the guild in a huff, most of the time these things can be resolved. Absolutely NO FIGHTING in guild or voice chat! People that pick fights with other guild members will be asked to leave.
